I really do love Roberts' writing style. They know how to craft a captivating world. There were just a few elements of this story that just weren't for me.

Hmm...ok. I enjoyed this book BUT I skimmed a lot... The MCs are adorable and loveable I wanted nothing but HEAs, babies, and bonus epilogues for them. However, the story is mostly just them running from safe house to safe house whilst giving each other steamy eyes. Meh, could be worse.

I got "If John Wick was an Omegaverse vibes" do with that what you will.

Another element I struggled with was how quickly the FMC was like "Oh, I will give up everything because you saved me from my own misguided actions." She goes from a "I will risk anything to get back to Earth" to "He's taken ladies" in the span of a chapter.

World building is quite impressive for an alien romance and I never thought seriously about DNF'ing so I'm going to rate this book as an overall success, and I'm ready to start book 2 :)

Really enjoyed this adventurous, alien romance. The world was interesting, and I loved the gritty, futuristic feeling of the city.

I was a little hesitant about how to feel about the hero because he was really possessive of Abella despite her telling him she isn't a possession and wants her own choices, but he grew on me. He is a bad@$$ protective hero, and he learns about love.

Looking forward to reading more in the series.

A sci-fi romance with all the action, drama, and steam. An enslaved earthling dancer is saved from her kidnapper by a silent, deadly assassin with surprising dance moves of his own.

Roberts does not hold back on the world building so be prepared for lots and lots of details and new names/places/species/etc.
