Katherine Corrigan has dreams--New York City, acting, her name in lights. She learns early on that adjustments must be made and she quickly adopts the stage name suggested to her - Kit. Kit becomes reacquainted with Billy on her way home from work one night and soon they begin to share this dream. But Billy's explosive temper and Kit's dancer crowd don't mix and the next thing Kit knows - she is in New York alone and Billy has enlisted. But Nate, Billy's father, finds Kit struggling and offers to help her out. Despite knowing of Nate's involvement in the mob, Kit accepts his help. Soon Kit realizes this help comes at a cost, and the cost may be higher than she is willing to pay.

The author interview at the end of the CD adds so much to this title. As always happens with great historical fiction - I find myself heading to the library to learn more!

This book was pretty uninteresting. The main girl was dull and I wanted to shake some sense into her several times. Was there a point to this book? No. It ended and what did I learn? Mobsters are jerks.
