AN AUDIENCE OF ONE In times of heartache,
there is no power
in pretending
you no longer care.
All healing must begin
with recognition of the wound;
let it out
in silver tears,
sing it from the rooftops
if you have to.
You are only
punishing yourself
hiding behind a performance
for an audience
who has already left
the room.

I absolutely adored this collection. I printed the poem, "You're Never Too Old" and gifted it to my mother-in-law, and can't wait to gift her the physical copy when it is released. There is something extraordinary about Beau's poetry, and I found myself connecting with every poem in some way. There is magic in every day life. Moving, authentic and beautiful.

Thank you Netgalley for the early copy.

Some of these are really amazing and I don't have the talent to put into words how much some of these poems were able to open my eyes. There were some that just stood out and that I was really able to connect with.

Some of the metaphors and comparisons in this book are simply just brilliant. I really enjoyed going through them.

One of my favourite poems out of this book is Hostels and Homes.

a pretty enjoyable read overall. some poems are really beautifully expressed. sometimes you don't need complex words to tell simple truths that we need to be reminded of.

4.5* I've loved all of Beau's previous collections and this one is no exception. I really enjoyed some of the longer pieces, and the way this book contains themes ranging from loss to hope and belonging, but always filled with a kind of magic and strength. This was just what I needed to read today.
