First of all so many twists and I loved that. The creativity, the drama, the execution, the spooky feelings from it. The endinggg ugh <3. Truly chefs kiss.

did not expect this to have a supernatural twist? very intriguing. also far fetched but to me most supernatural stores are soooo. but props to colleen for venturing into a genre other than her typical and still being able to keep the reader engaged!

Layla

TW Kidnapping, Supernatural, Eating Disorder.

Colleen Hoover is a brilliant storyteller. This book is in my top three books that I've read by her! I thought for sure that I knew the ending multiple times and was thrown every single time. I was shocked by the ending and wish I could read this book for the first time again. Leed's is an aspiring musician with no goals in life. When he meets Layla all of that changes for him. Tragedy strikes and so Leed takes Layla back to where they first met. Can Leed and Layla get back to being normal. Or will she always be the ghost of someone he once knew.

The beginning and end were okay, but it was so hard to get through the middle of the book! I gave up on it a few times, but pushed through because I heard the ending was shocking and I wanted to know if it would get better since I loved the other Colleen Hoover books I’ve read. I did not like the narrator at all, which made it very difficult to sympathize with him or care that much about the story.

This was a weird one for me. Typically I'm a big fan of Colleen Hoover but this one missed the mark. The story was original, that's for sure, but the entire time I was reading I felt uncomfortable. It was a bit much for me to take. In a way it seemed like domestic violence was being glorified. Near the end we are made to see why things happened the way they did and that should take away the negative feelings but it didn't do it for me.

I had to force myself to finish this one.
