I always enjoy household management when it’s covered in historical romances. I’m also glad the author included ridiculous notions on sex, they were hilarious. The sex scenes were also quite varied, which was a surprise. This was a satisfying read, and it didn’t rely on the miscommunication trope as a main cause of friction.

This was closer to ‘erotic romance’ than ‘romance’ (not a complaint, just a description of what it is). There was enough plot for it to be a decent story, and a lot of the relationship development happened during the sex scenes so these don’t feel awkwardly shoehorned in. The ending is a bit rushed and there were a couple of weaker side plots but they are of little consequence because they don’t take up a lot of time. It is not historically accurate in a few ways but let’s be honest, an accurate reflection of history is not the reason anyone is picking this up.

Wow this was a real surprise! Intensely spicy for a historical romance!! What a great surprise. I loved Gabriel’s character so much from the beginning. I just really felt for him and wanted him to be happy. His relationship with his valet, Hobbs, was so sweet.
