I tried, but I just couldn't get through it.

The first time I read this I was so excited that there was another Hitchhikers book I didn't care that it wasn't Douglas Adams.  This time on the reread I just couldn't get past it.

Doesn't work. There's a hologram Arthur encounters that bears the same resemblance to his one, true love as this does to Douglas Adams' books. I rather wish I hadn't read it.

تمام مدت حواس‌م بود که نویسنده داگلاس آدامز نیست. اجرای صوتی‌ش هم با مارتین فریمن نبود برخلاف 5 تا کتاب قبلی. با این همه بد نبود.

This book is a nice addition to the original 5 part trilogy, regardless if it needed one, but it still has some pitfalls. First, Eoin Colfer's writing style is very different to Douglas Adams's, with long chapters that take place in multiple "scenes", and with the guide entries sprinkled around like endnotes except they're mid-page. I felt this was extra jarring and harder to set up places to stop reading. Also, a lot of the humor is based in being explicit or similarly disgusting, which I didn't enjoy. Plus, and not to spoil, but the end of the book is unsatisfactory. It would require a Hitchhiker's Guide 7, but that's not likely going to come into fruition. All around, I'm glad I have the full Hitchhiker's Guide experience, but this is not the best addition.
