Another beautiful retelling by Meagan Spooner. I loved the strong woman MC. I genuinely loved the story of the Lady Marian feeling the obligation to fill the space Robin left behind after being killed in the King's war (not a spoiler). Meagan's retellings put strong women in a place to challenge a patriarchy and it is very satisfying.
This story isn't an exact retelling and I did like that. I like that you don't know exactly what will happen. The ending definitely took me off guard. The fact that there are twists with characters, and changed within the plot that create a new narrative. Her writing is beautiful. If you liked Hunted, and enjoy retellings, I think would enjoy this.
