3.5. Had me in parts, mainly the flashbacks, but then lost me in others. Was a fun read though and I really like TJR’s writing style.

This was my first TJR book and I definitely see the appeal. Malibu Rising started off strong with captivating characters and sad backgrounds. I found myself interested in surfing (and I live in the Midwest so typically not my vibe). A fabulous beachy summer read.

I gave it a 4 out of 5 starts, purely for the ending. From 4:00am on I felt like the dialogue became rushed and cheesy. Still glad to have read it though!

I felt like this book lacked a plot. After reading seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo, I was addicted to Taylor’s writing style. This Particular read was definitely entertaining but nothing great
