I might (emphasis on might) have given this book a higher rating, but the author uses highly fatphobic language frequently throughout the book when describing characters (not as a theme of the book or from one character describing another).
I listed ‘sexual content’ as a minor content warning, but any sex-related scenes are fade-to-black.
The book has a lot of cute moments and isa Happily Ever After but doesn’t really earn it and is ultimately unsatisfying.

When I picked up this book, I didn’t expect to cry over a fictional moose. Sounds weird, but if you pick up this novel, you’ll know why.
This was a fun read. It was hilarious, and the relationship was charming and enchanting, even though it didn’t start out that way. This book features the grumpy and sunshine trope, and Graham, our leading man, hates any, and all tourists. Until, he meets Zoey. Then everything changes. We still get to his grumpy attitude towards everyone else while being sweet on Zoey, and I loved it. Despite his feeling, he went out of his way to try to make her vacation a memorable one.
The book took an unexpected turn when it reflected on both the positive and negative aspect of smaller communities being a tourism town. It was interesting to see both perspectives, and see how destructing it can be to the locals.
The ending kind of through me for a loop and I felt like we lost out on Graham being his normal self, and instead he was being stupid. Despite his feelings the entire book, we only see at the end him put the hate on which annoyed me. It wasn’t the ending I was expecting but still ended up having me crying over a fictional moose and the relationship all over again.
This was a fun read. It had some serious themes integrated into the novel which I wasn’t expecting, but it made the story more realistic. This is exactly what I needed to get me out of my slump.

This book was really ok. I read it and at first loved it, but after finishing it I was annoyed. I don't understand some of the actions and choices of the main characters, and the ending was predictable. There were a few fatphobic statements, and that is not ok. I found it annoying that Grahm called Zoey "zoey-bear" every four seconds, and I found it annoying about his whole actions regarding the tourists. I did like the setting for this book, as I myself live in a very small mountain town, and I enjoyed some of the romance at the beginning of the book. This story was also very funny. Was okayed by this book, would not read again.

😍😍😍😍 This was TOO CUTE, y'all. Such a perfect sick day escapist romance, I cannot even. Nerdy off-beat heroine and cinnamon roll hero + blind dog in a hat + Alaskan setting + amazing side characters + moose friends + humorous writing + just enough spice? YES PLEASE. Docked a star for fatphobia and some problematic elements that I didn't think were dealt with appropriately. I will definitely be picking up more from Sarah Morgenthaler.
