Quite a heavy book. Just from reading the blurb, you would see it deals quite indepth with mental health struggles.

Olive was a complicated character, and was sometimes quite hard to like and understand why she was behaving the way she was.

My heart broke for Lewis.

I didn’t really like Olive because she was so busy saving other people instead of herself. I do think the message and the mental health awareness in this book are very good! But Olive was just annoying.
specifically when she kinda took advantage of Lewis
overall i liked the idea and the message of this book so 3/5 stars

Very honest book. It's hopeful, but realistic. It depicts mental illness(es), mental states, in a way that someone who know those feelings will read themselves every page of the book, and someone who doesn't will get to feel understanding and compassion. This book makes you want to hug people, tell them that it's okay, that they should be kinder and more compassionate with themselves. It's also full of triggers - so readers should be advised and some people might find this book more distressing than helpful. Still a good read, and important, but if one feels okay and ready.

Holly Bourne’s books are different and I wish I’d have discovered them earlier when I was younger. I love how her books don’t just focus on romantic relationships, but on characters and friendships. Even though I part of me really wants to know what happens to Olive and Lewis ;)

Holly Bourne has done it again! I've read almost all of Holly's books now - both YA and adult - and I've loved all of them. Holly's writing never disappoints and always leaves me feeling as though I've gained a friend in her characters. As with all of her books, Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes deals with mental health in a sensitive and yet incredibly realistic way. All of her characters are real and human ; their stories honest and raw - Olive is no exception. I don't know of a single other author who deals with such important subject matter, over and over again, and to such a high standard - especially in YA fiction. The representation of mental health in this book, and many of Holly's other novels, is unrivalled.
If I could choose one author that I think all teenagers (and adults!) could benefit from reading, it would be Holly Bourne.
