Set on what is supposed to be Susanna and Camden's wedding day, all the action takes place in one day.

Numerous obstacles throw themselves into the path of the happy couple. Winter weather causes the majority of problems, but slimy wedding guests also intrude.

A short story, with a moderate amount of angst and a little violence.

While this calls itself a regency novella, it is set in 1834. However, the Regency ended in 1820.

The description of house decorated for Christmas and the wedding are delightful, but several Americanisms creep in.

I did like the cover.

Overall, not a bad read if it was fanfiction, but I wouldn’t pay for it.

Forever Winter is a short story about what happens when absolutely everything goes wrong on one’s wedding day. Camden and Susanna are a wonderful couple, strongly in love and eager to begin their married life together. But having the Christmas wedding of their dreams comes with many obstacles, including bad weather, dress mishaps, and more.

I love the main characters and their shared history. They’ve known each other since childhood, and their feelings have only grown. They see the best in each other, and it’s clear that this is a true love match, unlike many of the other matches in her family. Susanna is kind-hearted and intelligent, and she is determined to marry for love, like her parents. Though her relationship with her sisters is strained, it says more about their characters than hers. Susanna is truthful and sincere, and her eagerness to be wed fuels the story.

Camden is a wonderful man and is wholeheartedly part of Susanna’s family. They have embraced him as a son, and this ringing endorsement says so much about his character. I like that Camden treats Susanna as his equal and sees her worth, not just as his wife and mother to his children, but also as a smart and strong woman who can help his business prosper and grow. Theirs is a sweet and deep love that is sure to last a lifetime.

A quick and warm historical romance with an unforgettable wedding, this is a great story for readers looking for a short and charming read. I’m so thankful to the author for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
