One of my favourite series ever and this final instalment was perfect. I’m heartbroken that there are no more stories of Theo and his foolish family.

For the longest time, I equated clowns and jesters. But, jesters are so much more. In the past, they had the power to say what everyone was thinking, so long as they put it in a joke form so people could laugh about it. That's a unique power. Think of Henry VIII and his jester, Will Somers. He lasted as a jester through Elizabeth I's reign. Basically the whole Tudor line. That's terribly impressive.

But, back to the book.

This was a light mystery. Something fun that I could read in a detached manner. I didn't feel the need to actively get involved in the book. It was humorous and just a fun read. Perfect since I'm rather busy at the moment with school and work. I enjoyed this very much. Even if this is the eighth book, I didn't need any catch up time to understand the plot carrying over. Everything was perfectly explained in a way that made me want to know what had happened in the past without feeling like I had to start at the very beginning. In other words, this was the perfect book for me right now. I fully intend to read the other books.
