i could really relate to this book mainly because of the same age. (Me and Eleanor are both 16 and in gr10). I didn't understand most of the allusions used in the novel but the 2 or 3 that I did understand, they were actually very funny. This is a great book and the endings great too because you know that Eleanor and Park will end up together but the beginning was kind of a mystery with the whole 1948 thing. I don't know what has happened to Eleanor's mom and siblings and it was so disgusting that Richie would stoop that low and write all of the those disgusting comments on her books. The entire time I thought he just didn't care and that's how he had acted but he was a pervert and who knows what horrible things he would've done if Eleanor had made noise and went to her mom's bedroom or her siblings told on her or she got caught in any way. He already could hurt his wife (the most beautiful and actress looking lady) and he already had kicked Eleanor out of the house once... there was probably a second time coming too. I was glad that Eleanor's uncle and aunt took her in, although it did seem like the aunt did all the convincing. AND Park slept through prom, what was that, he was the one that said prom was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and he missed it and i felt awful for his date from his work, he probably had the worst night ever.

This book was great, like honestly fantastic yet not my favourite.
The characters were amazing I related to both of them in such interesting ways, however I only gave it four stars.
My reasoning for this is because I not only want more but their relationship could be seen as dull, yes they spent a lot of time together and had a lot in common but what about all the things Eleanor wanted to say and never did? What about the words park would say yet would never be repeated by Eleanor?
I have many questions about this book but as explained at the end their 17 and it’s only the begging for them, but things were never put back together, it was like trying to complete a puzzle without all the pieces, you never know what the end picture would look like.
Some of the aspects were quite emotionally upsetting yet educational.
The book made me feel many mixed emotions and I loved the first couple of chapters when they started falling, but after that it all got a bit strange...
If you want to read it, go ahead, it’s a good book, just know not everything will have answers and it’s made to make you question their ending.

I wasn’t able to really get into this book/the story so it didn’t hit the mark for me. I did sympathize for Eleanor and her life/family but I didn’t feel the emotions (love, lust) between her and Park - maybe because I listened to it as an audiobook but also maybe just the writing itself.

I will say I was... surprised towards the end though
