Despite his troubles, I adored Nixon in Rifts & Refrains and wanted to experience his full story. Zoe was the perfect heroine for this tortured rock star. I loved the Colorado setting and the small town vibe. This was the first book I have read from this author, and I will definitely read more of her work in the future.

Zoe and Nixon
Rockstar romance
I love how they fight for each other and work things out in the end!
Another quick and easy read.
The series overall is okay. I doubt I'll reread it but it was a nice palate cleanser

This series is three books written by three different authors. Each author writing about a different band member.
by Sarina Bowen
by Devney Perry
This is Nixon Winters & Zoe Shannon’s story.
Nixon a guitarist with a troubled past that he blames himself for bottles up his angst, self hate and heartache and soothes it away with alcohol. He never lets anyone in and even his band mates have no clue what the cause is. He is totally on a self destruct mission. Fresh out of another stint in rehab his record label assigns him a babysitter.
Zoe Shannon an aspiring band manager/lawyer is assigned to not leave his side and to keep him sober. Zoe is a no nonsense take no prisoners type. He pulls ever stunt in the book to try and make her quit. Even forcing her to do goat yoga while wearing a professional pantsuit. His stunts turn hilarious and before long he has gotten her to loosen up and actually have fun.
When they run into her ex in her hometown he steps up and puts the ex who is belittling her in his place. That was the turning point when they both looked at each other differently.
But then his past comes back and raises its ugly head. Nixon spirals and pushes Zoe away.
Now go read the book to find the rest of the story. I loved this book and I’ve read lots of rockstar romance but this one pulled at my heartstrings and I couldn’t stop listening. This truly felt like real people and my heart broke for them both!
Rebecca Yarros definitely knows how to make you fall in love with her characters!
I very highly recommend.

I love the series, I love this story!
The characters are really so very good! So likable, so entertaining and heartfelt.
The story had me all in. There were so many scenes I absolutely loved the dialogue and characters responses and actions. I love the banter and heat! The build up is EVERYTHING!
It could have easily been cliché, but it wasn’t.
It was so enjoyable and had heart and depth.
I appreciated the “demons” the characters were fighting. I felt like they were handled so well, so original.
The small town aspect wasn’t trite. It was pitch perfect to me.
The fears and obstacles were very real. I loved that!
The chemistry, romance and connection really “did” it for me! I was swooning hard!
I’m not a huge fan of slow burn, but whe it’s done like this... I LOVE it!
Plenty of hate/love and angst. It was emotional and romantic in an unconventional way at its best!
