I wanted to like this but the writing style was not for me. So much dialogue and too many characters made it hard to follow. Plus it was just boring and spent way too much time talking about garbage.

This is one of those books that is a good book. The characters and setting are interesting, and the mystery is good, even though I guessed the culprit early on. The book has a few flaws though. First, 90% of the book feels like dialogue and it all feels unnatural. Second, The main characters aren't very developed and more is explained about "what" they are and do, over "who" they are. And, Last, the book is slowly paced and not a lot of action or excitement happen. The weird thing is that even with these issues the books is still good. It's still compelling, and I wanted to keep reading to learn more about the characters and setting.

This book definitely qualifies for the moniker "cozy mystery". I never once felt that anything was high stakes. It was, in fact, less than compelling. Which is difficult to achieve when dealing with murder.
