Added plot points to the story, but too much of this book was filled with ultra-bloody fight scenes. And Atom Eve enlarging her breasts—ugh, the misogyny.

At first I loathed it because it was just so messy and chaotic in the storytelling, but once I pulled through the several Marks attacking, it was pleasant. The main thing with this arc is how the strings are being pulled, at I must applaud the introduction of a viltrumite, that always bring the spirits up. Just do not abuse the classical "omg, he was NOT dead after all" that is so cheesy now.

Well, that escalated quickly! And then it escalated some more and really just kept going! I'm pretty sure I stopped breathing for a couple of minutes. I'm very familiar with how shocking and brutal and twisted Robert Kirkman can be, and if you're a fan his then I'm sure you'll agree that this volume is among his best.

This was just fantastic , This was action packed from the first page to the last , this was dripping in gore , This had Breast enhancement...err... yeah

As I stated a few lines ago this was action packed from the get go , as Angstorm puts forward his evil plan and boy oh boy ! It's damn sure is Evil. Although much of the action was unseen and the end of the plan came a bit abruptly , it just was so impactful . Not to mention soon after another big baddy shows up and That fight went even beyond the Omni-man battle .

It was just panels after panels of breathless action and entertainment and once the dust settled you could tell that things have changed , that the story has been impacted. Where this is all headed , I can't wait to find out , for now however, THIS here is the best Invincible Comics I have read this year

This series just keeps on surprising me! I was away from it for a long time but as soon as the trades come in, I am devouring them! The epic battle that takes up almost all of this book was very graphic and, at some times, so crazy it was hard to figure out the flow of the page. But I think that got across the chaos of the battle itself. Cannot wait to see what happens in Volume 14!

My favorite collection to this point. Conquest is such a great villain, plus the multiple Invincible attack lead to a great feeling of hopelessness (which I attribute a lot to the art and colors), and then a huge death and character shifts for Mark, Eve, and Robot. Brilliant.

Okay, so, wow. That was the most insane volume of this comic yet. And I feel like I've said that at least two other times, but it's true, and somehow Kirkman just keeps upping the ante. This one was all bite, no bark. He's all but bludgeoning us over the head for six issues in a row of non-stop, fast-paced, world-shattering storytelling. And, as if any of us have forgotten, we are reminded why Invincible must always be in contention for "most violent superhero comic" of all time.

The events herein surround Angstrom Levy's alternate-dimension Invincibles plan, and then run smack dab into a little visit to Earth by a Viltrumite named Conquest, and trust me, you cannot put this one down. The sequence of events is so intense that I was literally waiting for some plot device to be introduced that would reverse it all. It was just that crazy, that I thought surely it couldn't stand. Something would happen to make it all right again. How naïve of me, to doubt Robert Kirkman.

And also, it must be said as it has been said many times before, Ryan fucking Ottley. This dude is putting in work. These are busy, busy panels. High action, an enormous cast of characters, complex movements and scenery, and he isn't just keeping up, he's nailing it. Big ups to inker Cliff Rathburn and colorist Fco Plascencia on this volume too. Just stellar work all around.

Around the halfway mark, this story is not wavering at all, as I once feared it would. I'm all in for this right now, eager to see what comes next.

Not only is Invincible one of the best superhero stories out there, Vol. 12 is hands-down one of the best story arcs in modern super stories.
