I enjoyed reading this. A lot of the reviews do not give this book the justice which it needs. Certain reviews have confused Scotland Yard as a place mentioned in the book with the later use in a police setting which is not the use in the book. Also the great fire is a setting for the book and the storyline is around this but not a history of it. The characters and writing style I thought good within the novel. A good descriptive style and a great idea. I would recommend this as a good read.

I love historical books but dislike murder mystery books. This was like a happy medium book. I probably would enjoy it more if there wasn’t the mystery aspect but either way I enjoyed the historical aspect as I do like plague/ Great Fire era London!
