Whew! This one was a tough read, not because of the content mind you but because I chose to read this after the US 2024 elections. Stunning story from the start that captures the anguish, beauty, and dysphoria of being trans. If you are religious, this book may not be for you. The rest of us heathens will like it just fine!

What a book. It's loud and unapolegetic. It's visceral and gross. The writing is wonderful and the gore interspersed with religious text and imagery made for a beautiful reading experience. 
There is so much hurt and anger but also hope and community.
The descriptions of Benji’s body and intestines rotting from the inside out - ugh.
