I knew I knew I KNEW that having faith in Farrah Rochon was the right call, even after I didn’t love the Boyfriend Project. This story was so well put together, heartfelt, romantic, damn near SWOONWORTHY. Actually take out that damn near it WAS swoonworthy. Just absolutely perfect. I also just love that in both books of this series the men are flat out OBSESSED with the women from jump, I don’t care how realistic it is I think it’s cute. I will say that I would have appreciated a reflection on the idealization of thinness in this novel, given its focus on the many facets of health. Also, if your politics skew further left than Democrat there are going to be some moments that irk you. Still a really fun read that I enjoyed a lot.

A fun, funny, solid romance that also addresses some serious topics. There was just enough heat as well, I'd say this is a medium spice book. I liked the development of the relationship between Taylor and Jamar, the female friendship and cameo of the couple from the last book, and the family dynamics there. The kind-of glorification of the army wasn't really my thing - why is her dad's job basically celebrated as his whole identity? It was a turnoff to see his 60th birthday deviated with an army theme - but it was still at a tolerable level. Overall would recommend.

Be aware that this book deals with grief, injury and fitness struggles. There's also representation of a learning disorder and ADHD.

I liked the first book in this series, The Boyfriend Project, but I think I liked this one even more! Looking forward to the third one.

Loved this book! Didn’t realize that it is a companion novel in a series, so I’m excited to read the first one! I really appreciated the way that heavier topics like grief, guilt, undiagnosed learning disorders, and family dynamics were handled. The banter between Taylor and Jamar was incredible, the steam was steamy, and the fake dating trope was so well executed. Loved it!
