If you’re looking to read more nonfiction books, I would definitely recommend starting with this one! It’s been a couple of years since the #MeToo movement took over social media, but you might remember the commotion it caused our society and the voices who were brave enough to speak out. If you don’t quite remember all that happened or want to familiarize yourself more with what the movement entailed, I would definitely recommend picking this up. Even if you just want to learn more about the world of investigative journalism, still check out this book. The authors are able to blend facts and their reporting seamlessly with the narratives of Weinstein’s survivors. Personally, I thought it was going to be a bit dense to read but that wasn’t the case what so ever. Overall, a very informative and engaging read!

This book is a great look behind the scenes at how journalists break the big, complex stories. All the investigation, texts, emails, calls, documents, corroboration...it gives the reader a respect for decent journalism.
While I was reading this book, I felt sort of hopeless. The section on Harvey Weinstein had loads of women who had experienced harassment from him but none wanted to talk and many had signed confidentiality agreements. You develop a respect for Kantor and Twohey at their doggedness but also their discretion and ability to know when to leave someone be for now.
It's an important reminder of the real women behind the sensational headlines of the #MeToo movement, and it also shows how much work remains.
The book was a little dry and repetitive in part, but that's more to do with the nature of investigative journalism than the story itself. This is an interesting read for anyone who wants a breakdown of the events leading up to the first article, and anyone who wants a look at techniques used by journalists.

I could not recommend this book more! It is life changing and a must read...especially as we live through the Me Too Movement. I recommend it to people of any political view/ideologies. These reporters remain unbiased and share the nitty gritty truth of many women who’ve been silenced for decades. Through the stories they share they capture truth, change, and purpose in a way that I believe is losing itself in the news. They also do a great job at tying up any loose ends with all the varying women and sharing where they are today/how it’s affected them today.

Dare I say... this is a must read. I think the tenacity of these two journalists changed the world.
