Inspiring and concise history to remind us of how far we've come, and how much we still have left.

Really nice jumping off point for those interested in the female plight. This short book looks at the past, present and gives some warnings about the future.

Nice touch in adding Emmeline Pankhurt's speech at the back of the book :)

This little gem of a book considers one question: has anything changed since some women got the vote 100 years ago? And if so, what do we still have to do to catch up with the male history that has gone on for centuries. Winterson is funny, personable and frank about the state of womankind and I would absolutely love if this could be expanded into a full length collection of thoughts and essays on feminism. For 80 pages, it gives us a proper whistle-stop tour around suffrage and its consequences without scrimping on the details. A quick but informative read.

This is the book that I wanted from Mary Beard's Women & Power. I'm so glad that I read this slight but empowering book.
