This is fun! I definitely want to read the next one.

The funniest thing is the art,
because there's absolutely no continuity
. That being said, I love the character designs (at least sometimes). It is chock-full of quippy one-liners, but it's not grating.
There is one singular panty shot of Velma, but I think Shaggy is sexualized more because his shirt is ALWAYS riding up with his happy trail on display.

This is really good, just don't take it too seriously :)

Interesting. In short, it's Resident Evil staring the Scooby Doo characters. There are parts I enjoyed, and parts that dragged. I don't love it (yet), but I'm curious to see where it goes.

First, these aren't your traditional after-school Scooby characters. They are much grittier. They have anger issues, they have insecurities, they have love interests. It's more adult than the traditional cartoon, but not too mature for teens.

There is a lot of dialogue in these issues. It becomes overwhelming and could be toned back. It makes it difficult to get into. Still, I charged ahead because I love Scooby Doo and was curious.

I was going to give it 5 stars for originality, but the plot copies nearly every resident evil/post-apocalyptic plotline in the book. Still, the introduction of Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Fred and Daphne gives it an interesting twist. It could be the start of something interesting, but it does need some work. Mainly: less dialogue, faster pace, more of the original scooby traits we know and love. A little more progress in the story. (After the first few issues, Daphne's bossy attitude and Velma's insecurites have grown old. There are 5 characters, plus the disaster, plus the enemies/monsters. Start developing those). I thought the story would be much farther than it is. Still, I'm interested to see where it goes.

This is more like a 3.25 and that’s only bc the appearance of Scrappy Doo as a villain pushed it up .25 stars

This was super fun. I have some complaints with the art seeming out of sync with the writing and the annoyance of Velma's various doctorates she presumably acquired over the course of a maximum of three years, but overall I'm still enjoying it. Oh, and I find Daphne's character change to be a bit jarring. Now that's it. I love Scooby and o think the story is interesting and fun enough. It's quite simple, but it's Scooby Doo, I'm not reading Sandman here. I'll definitely keep up with this series.

Had to reread in order to know what was going on in the second volume. Glad that I did, I'm enjoying this version of Scooby and the gang a lot!

This is...ok? I think some people will like this story a lot more than I do. The art is pretty good though. I wish I was a little more subtle or actually had a lead in to the apocalypse part. This has so much unnecessary dialogue in it that it is repeating itself. Like, What if they just solved mysteries and they're learning the monsters are real and need to discover how...then find out about the lab and the whole transformation nanobot things. That would defiantly be a lot more mystery! Instead they just kinda put you in the middle of it, Go! Right off the bat with crazy monsters!
Daphne's character is ehh?...I don't understand why she has a mystery show and they don't give her much character besides angry.
Fred wouldn't be missed if he wasn't in this vol. at all.
Shaggy seem pretty true character.
Scooby I actually like the smart dog origin story. He still has his character but I like the more vicious bits.
Velma is still brainy..and why is she the only one who gets an origin story?
What in fact is anyone's motivation?! ~Ashley

I've been on a Scooby Doo kick this year. I re-watched the entire first season a few months ago and read "Meddling Kids" an adult spoof and everyone's favorite teenage gang of crime solvers. I thought Scooby Doo Apocalypse might be some more of that but I was wrong. It's entirely different. The gang didn't know each other as teenagers and they only come together because evil genius, Velma had been working on nano-technology when some scientists re-wired it and caused it to be bad. Velma reached out to Daphne's low rated cable mystery show (Fred is the loyal filming assistant) to help expose what was going on in her secret high tech lab. Unfortunately all hell breaks loose and everyone starts turning into monsters. Shaggy and his genetically enhanced dog, Scooby, help the three escape the lab alive. Now the five of them must rely on each other for survival because it looks like the whole world has gone mad. So yeah... completely different. They even made Shaggy a giant hipster. Not horrible, not great, I may check out volume two.

Maybe a tad harsh with the rating, but it just felt the issues kept repeating the same action, arguments, etc, without expanding on the concept.
