Really like this book, I do plan to reread it, but the end was somewhat of shock I guess? Kinda got let down a little and was faster paced at the end but it’s still a great book.

References to organized crime, police corruption, possible rape(?), death is a major thing here, light references to stalking and maybe schizophrenia or psychosis depending on how you view the two. A book that kinda also goes into the flying face of religion with how the afterlife is handed (that isn’t a spoiler, it’s a main reference in the story).

Its so rare to have a malicious character happen to be queer instead of being malicious because they are queer and credit where credit is due Stephen King did this Very Well.

Ive always enjoyed non linear storytelling (I also enjoy when a medium using non linear storytelling shouts out another work using non linear storytelling hellooo saw reference!! made me very happy ty mr king :P) and I enjoyed Jamies narration through his lives most harrowing experiences quite a lot.
He’s an incredibly sympathetic and believable character. Which is another credit to Stephen King considering he hasn’t been a child or teenager in a while and he managed to make me (someone who is almost exactly Jamies age and therefore was a kid in the early 2000s like he was) believe wholeheartedly that this a peers story I’m being told.

All the little (and big) nudges and references, if you can call them that, to It especially were exciting to me personally. Since that particular bit of King legacy introduced me into horror as a genre and i pretty much don’t function normally anymore whenever Maine, Sewers or Clowns or in this case Deadlights are brought up. All in all i had a pretty good time with this and would read more about Jamies run ins with the dead.
