A good, decent paced thriller. A lot of detail and backstory, but I finished this one in under 24 and don't even slightly regret it. I didn't watch the movie before reading this one, since I liked the plot.

I watched the movie and hoped the book would give more info to some of the characters but it was awful. All these people are horrible and it felt like the author wanted to be like Gone Girl and copied it but threw in incest and other issues.

Actually liked the movie better than the book, but enjoyed the read. Love the different perspectives and definitely visualized Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively the whole time

SO EFFING DUMB. I never do this but was hating the book so I just rented the movie....also terrible. $1.87 down the drain. Book version of Stephanie is such an idiot and there is zero insight to her decisions, I can only imagine that with the twists the movie takes there’s no way the reader has any insight to her motives or “detective skills.” Seems like the story could’ve been like five different, more fleshed out, decent plots but the author couldn’t decide on which SURPRISE PLOT TWIST to pick so just put them all in one book....which just ended with me cracking up at how ridiculous things got. HARD PASS.

I really wanted to like this book. It had an amazing plot outline but the writing kept me from getting into it. I just couldn’t get past the juvenile style, especially considering it wasn’t a YA book.

This felt like a very run-of-the-mill thriller. I saw a lot of the twists coming and the ones that I didn't kind of came out of nowhere. Honestly, I believe that some of the twists I made up would have made for a more interesting story to be honest. I know that some things were set up to create complex backgrounds for the characters, but I felt like we got these details that could have contributed to really interesting plot points that wound up going nowhere.

If you've read Gone Girl and/or Girl on the Train, you've read this book. By now, this strategy of alternating narrators that happen to be somewhat unreliable is getting old. Character development was lacking, everybody in the book feels underwhelming and inconsistent in terms of what they do/say/think, and not in the good way.

Saw previews for the movie so I wanted to read the book before the movie came out. SO GOOD. Loved the story and the twists, and then loved seeing Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick bring it to life on the screen.
