Aaaaanddd we’re back. Incoming rant review LOL also this is gonna be spoilers galore sooooo you have been warned.

Soooo, the start of this book was strong. I loved seeing Lana and her and Jake together after Logan hurt her. The relationship they have together is perfection, there’s so much love and respect. I absolutelllyyy adored the final revenge kills and the details surrounding them. I LOVED the messages from the family that popped up, that whole scene. Could not fault it. Jake and Lana are absolute masterminds and they did justice well.

Logan I still hate, he just is such a piss poor character. Okay so, he literally abused and silenced her and only felt bad AFTER he found out who he was. There was no grovelling. He basically snuck up on her when he found and somehow “overpowered” her when realistically we all know he shouldn’t have been able to with Lana on high alert after a kill and then they call a truce and have a night of sex and talk of sweet nothings. What sort of bullshit was that. Ugh.

The original killer detail, was good but it was underwhelming. I was suspect on that person when they first interviewed him, like huh, that’s weird but okay. So it made sense.

Their HEA, ugh such bullshit. And the end made no sense, him delivering someone to her as an anniversary present. No. First of all Lana didn’t want to lose herself to that, she was all about avenging her torturers and the wrong doing of her family, and what now she’s just killing people because they are bad and Logan is assisting by delivering them? That doesn’t fit with the rest of the story??

Summary of the full series: overall I’d rate mindfuck 3 MAYYYBEEEEE a 3.5/5 and that’s purely for everything OTHER than the romance between her and Logan and his shitty detective skills and terrible instalove bullshit and shitty smut. The plot surrounding Lana though, her backstory, each kill, her and Jake’s relationship. Perfection. I loved that, although I do think the whole thing would have hit harder with an alternate ending. IMO Lana should have died and that would have had such a major impact.
Jake and Hadley together, cute but just because they’re Bisexual doesn’t mean they are open to introducing people into their relationship, that’s incredibly stereotypical. Hadley had trauma she was healing from and had trust issues letting people in, Jake was recovering from the loss of the love of his life and hadn’t felt ready to move on. For them just to jump on eachother immediately and then when they rekindle they are suddenly inviting people into their relationship? Doesn’t make sense.

Not too shabby an ending. All the big dramatic guns were pulled for this one, which made it a bit more predictable, going all blockbuster and riding off into the sunset, but I still enjoyed it.
