A Silent Hell is the pinnacle of what a Blacksad story should be. Colorful, unique cast of characters? Check. An engaging mystery and plot? Check. Breathtaking art and well thought out scripts? Check. This book has it all.

This episode takes Blacksad out of New York and into different, more colorful settings. I think this contrasts the tone and content to the very Disney inspired style even better than the first 3 volumes making this feel unique from the other two. It also feels like a love letter to New Orleans and Jazz music in general, as both play a MASSIVE part in the story. All the characters in this volume are flawed but all come off as very human which is ironic for a story about animals. The art has never been better. Guarnido absolutely murders this one. It’s obvious he’s poured blood sweat and tears into the page creating masterpiece after masterpiece.

The crime element in this story was also my favorite part about the story and to see my favorite crime elements executed so well on paper makes me giddy.

10/10. Perfect crime story.

I came across this at my local library and could not resist the urge to pick it up. As a short story told in comic form is well constructed and intriguing. Detective Blacksad in no ordinary Cat. The gentleness and righteousness of his temperament is admirable. Hired to find a drug addict who was at one point a famous musician, Blacksad comes to discover a terrible secret that endangers silently everyone in town. It is hard to find good comics now a days, so if you are prompted by the "Blacksad" series, pick it up. It is surprisingly enjoyable with an old town charm.

Again, really excellent. I love Canales's writing, and Guarnido's art is amazing.

Det räcker inte med fantastiska teckningar när du har en grundhistoria så tung av klyschor och så rörigt uppbyggd. Intressantare än själva serien är att läsa tecknarens genomgång av sina överväganden och stilval i slutet.
