Might not be for everyone but I really enjoyed it. Not a fast pace but still had regular bursts of excitement and drama. A few gasp out loud moments. A bit slow in the middle but I really enjoyed the first chunk and the plot twist at the end. Felt all wrapped up a bit quickly at the end but things were mostly tied up well.

Review:

The first half was very slow, I would have given that 3 stars. The second half was much better, so that would have been a 4 stars. I really liked the ending.

The story itself was very interesting and good. Especially the concept. It was also pretty haunting to think about.

I would have liked to have a little bit more explanation of the past and what happened there.

I really loved all of the characters, they were very awesome. Jip was one of my favorites.

The twists near the end were very good and the foreshadowing earlier in the book were also well done.

Review previously placed on my blog:

I'm currently reading A boy and his dog at the end of the world by C.A. Fletcher. I was craving sci-fi, so I picked this up at the library.

It's really good and pretty creepy so far. Would probably give it 4, maybe even 5 stars.

I didn't love this as much as I hoped. That was mainly because the first half of the story was very slow. Nothing really happened and the worldbuilding wasn't enough and interesting enough to keep it interesting for me. I would have given the book 3 stars if it wasn't for the second half. There the pace picked up and it became very intriguing. I would have given that part 4 stars, so my final rating is 3,5 stars. I highly recommend this if you like dystopian stories that are more slow and have very good characters and an interesting world. Another one of my favourite characters is in this: the dog Jip.
