This book started off strong, it had an intriguing premise and I was drawn into the fear for Cass. However, the nervousness and fear quickly became repetitive and redundant, and by the half way point, I was frustrated.

The ending did pick up for me and I enjoyed the last 25% the most. Maybe I went into this one with too high of expectations because I was a BIG fan of Behind Closed Doors (it's one of my favorites reads this year!) but when it comes to The Breakdown, the plot just wasn't believable for me.

I'd love to hear your thoughts if you've read this one! And if you haven't, don't let my review deter you! This book has lots of 4 and 5 star reviews!

This was OK. The beginning of the novel paints the plot as a women who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and because of this, spirals into a painfully slow mental breakdown. I think the repetition of events is what really threw off this plot line. Also, I guessed the ‘big reveal’ before I hit page 100. It was just too obvious - I was so fairly certain I knew what was coming that I only finished just to prove to myself that I had guessed correctly so early on, and I did ( great job, me!). If you are looking for an easy read with light mystery and very minimal scare factor, this might be for you.

The end was good but it took forever to get there. I felt like 3/4 of the book was the same thing over and over.

I’m a huge fan of this author but this fell a little flat for me. The story is predictable in parts and repetitive throughout.

Frustratingly repetitive but enjoyed it enough.

I loved it! I felt as if the story dragged on too long, though. I honestly kept reading because I just wanted to find out who killed Jane. Overall, great book!
