Well that was the most unexpected read I’ve picked up this year.

Sometimes you read books at a perfect time in your life and it leaves a footprint on your mind.

This book left me in tears, made me laugh, made me smile with my heart warmed. Beautiful and romantic depiction of love and grief. Yes, the story is dramatic but the storytelling has so much truth.

I really enjoyed this audiobook! I was absolutely heartbroken for  Sam and was mad at him for ending things with Emma. I wished we had gotten more time with them as a couple.

I also hated how pushy and controlling Jesse was. The way he spoke to Emma was cringy most of the time. I also hated how his words and actions would sway Emma’s thoughts and emotions.

So, I guess I hated Emma too. One word and she flips. Another word and she flops. In her defence, she was faced with an undeniably impossible situation with no pain free solution.

All in all, I was very happy with how it ended and now I can’t wait to watch the movie and cheer for Simu Liu as Sam.

Emma and her perfect fiancé are leaving her Dads birthday dinner when she receives a call from an unknown number. When she answers she hears a voice she never thought she would ever hear again. It’s Jesse, her husband, who died three years ago in a helicopter crash, and he is back.
Emma now has to decide who she is meant to be with.

Here we meet again a poor girl who needs to choose between two dream boat men who absolutely adore her. How tough! Lol no ok it would be but come on 🤣.

This is my third TJR read and although her plots are great there is always something that just doesn’t do it for me. This book I didn’t find the FMC so annoying which was a change, although I did find some things off.

The way the characters spoke when they were teenagers was reminiscent of Dawson’s creek, sprouting philosophical ideals about love and life at 16 just wasn’t realistic. Plus I know in romances no man ever just says I love you, but some of the carrying ons got a bit much. Maybe I’m just not a romantic gal.
