The quality of the faces that are drawn panel to panel are okay, but not amazing. The fights are cool.
Spoilerthe emergence of multidimensional travel, the big tall blue clone twins, a Martian secretly sneaking aboard a NASA spaceship, Robot’s behavior being sus, The Immortal taking over the new version of the Guardians of the Globe, Mark trying to balance his secret identity with being a superhero, and the emotions of Nolan’s betrayal! All of this piling up from Vol 1 - 4. So much crazy stuff. Oh and the Rock Man who was working for Machine Head actually turning out to be a two faced crime boss 😱! The drama!

I love seeing that Eve has chosen a different path, using her powers for something other than fighting. I also like that she’s chosen to leave boyfriends behind. It shows a maturing of her character.

The aftermath issues are always somewhat saddening. In this case, they solve it in a very alluring manner. By Mark picking the flag of what could be.

I enjoyed this volume! The writing isn’t anything amazing, but it’s still fun nonetheless. I also like the depiction of Mark and his mother’s grief, I feel like that’s an aspect that’s handled really well. I’m hoping for more depth in Eve’s character in later volumes, and I hope they don’t push her and Mark together before developing her character more. Or, even better, I hope they stay as friends.

It is noteworthy how good this book still is in the fourth trade. The story picks up where the previous trade left it. In this trade invincible's rogue's gallery gets expanded though.

still a wonderfull series.

These stories take your average superhero story and turns up the heat. This mature take on superheroes is a fun adventure. Definitely would recommend to comic book lovers!

One recurring joke, and I'm beginning to think it's not tongue in cheek. Uncool. But otherwise still very pleased. And *very* glad the animated version shook things up for the much better. Which says just how good the animated thing is more than it casts shade on this. Except for that one recurring joke.

3.5 out of 5 really

What I lIked :

This was basically a volume depicting the aftermath of the events that took place in Vol.3 .These mainly focused on how the new Guardians of the globe and the planet are dealing with threats in the absence of the original Guardians and Omni-man .

Another aspect that the aftermath dealt with was the emotional response from Mark and his mother , with the difficulties faced by Mark's mom really tugging your emotional heart strings.

Meanwhile the story once again focused on how Mark's character is being built towards what he'll become in the future . His coming of age story is not just about being a hero who will fill Omni-man's boots but also about how he survives the teenage and all the chaos that comes with it.

Another thing that I really liked was the introduction of proper villains and arch-enemies for Invincible in this issue . I count at least 5 decent villain .

What I didn't Like :

Or rather What You may not like - The issue , as i stated before was more about Mark's character development , and the emotional turmoils and less about your typical superhero stuff.

The issue also felt a bit insignificant and slow compared to the previous issue, but then again , it was always going to be difficult to deliver another issue like volume 3 .

Verdict:

Still a breath of fresh air among the usual superhero comics on sale and definitely a comic that I continue to enjoy and recommend . :)
