After being a huge fan of Carrie Ann Ryan’s Montgomery Ink series, I figured it was time to venture into her other book series. And boy am I glad I decided to! The Aspen Pack is made up of a blend of paranormal creatures. I have never seen a more unique narrative when it comes to the paranormal. In this fourth installment, you will fall in love with characters Cruz and Dara as you follow their love story through the action of the war of the supernatural. Give this book a listen!

Harbored in Silence is book four in the Aspen Pack. I have been waiting for Dara and Cruz's book, and it didn't disappoint. There are so many twists and turns, snark and plenty of steam. I absolutely love Cruz, he's the perfect, protective book boyfriend. It has mystery and secrets that will be revealed. So many feels. What a great read.

The war is closer than ever and Dara thinks she has the key to saving all the packs. Though not mated, Cruz knows there is a bond with Dara that no one else realizes is there. Dara can hide her pain and anguish from the pack, but never from Cruz. Dara has a plan to save the pack, but she must find the witches from her past first. Dara and Cruz set out to find help for the pack and along the way they find what they truly are to each other. They find shocking new information about their enemies, a past that was hidden behind a dark spell, a betrayal they never saw coming, new allies and finally the name of demon pulling the strings. Dara will have to fully embrace who she is in order to save the pack, and to save her mate. The suspense and drama just keeps mounting with each new book and I can't wait for Jade and Steele's book!!

This is Dara and Cruz's story. Dara is a death witch within the pack and she did something that has affected her relationship with Cruz. He died in battle and she used her magic to bring him back. She feels that since she did this they will never be mates even though they both feel the pull. Cruz isn't going to let Dara go and he goes with her when she seeks out witches where not part of the coven as she knows the Aspen pack will need all of the help they can get to fight the vampires.

Cruz uncovers a secret that changes the way he thinks but the pack doesn't let that affect him in a bad way and they are able to help him accept it and be there for him.

There are still dangers out there and they now know that one of them is someone they thought of as a friend and pack.

Dara and Cruz have a connection but its not a bonding connection its something else and something more.
While this is a standalone, we have previously met Dara the Harvester Death Witch and Cruz the heir to the Alpha pack as this is the fourth book in the Aspen Pack series.
As always, Carrie Ann Ryan had me crying out 'what', 'why' and 'hold on...' throughout Harbored in Silence.

While not necessary, if you are going to read Harbored in Silence I recommend that you do start with Etched in Honor and read the series in order to get a full understanding of the underlying storyline.

Another fast-paced story in the Aspen Pack series! The Pack has been left severely unprotected with the fall of the coven - there are no witches to help shore up the wards protecting the Pack. Dara is trying her best, but the Alpha knows it’s not enough.

Sent with her, in the hopes of finding other witches who are in hiding, is Cruz, whom Dara has already brought back from death once but not without a toll…

Does Dara find the others and convince them to join her in fighting this fight? And what happens with she and Cruz, her mate but one she cannot safely have?

Lots of twists and turns, questions answered and battles fought that will keep you engaged throughout the story!

This was a great instalment of the Aspen pack series. I really enjoyed the progression from the previous story (Mated in Chaos) and seeing the evolution of the storyline and the characters.

The reading of this book seemed to pass in the blink of an eye, but it wasn’t a short read, it was just so gripping you couldn’t put it down. There were secrets both old and new, new friends, allies and unfortunately enemies, but these new alliances are critical as the traitor finds themselves uncovered.

There are still more mysteries to uncovered and battles to win in this Aspen series, which leaves you eager for more. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Dara is the Harvester Death Witch and Cruz the Aspen Pack Heir. We've been getting hints on them in previous books, and as their story opens we know that Dara brought Cruz back to life, and that they know they are mates, but have been fighting their pull to each other. They embark on a quest, to help save their pack, to seek out additional witches Dara know and bring them back in to the pack to help strengthen the pack. Dara and Cruz have both been through a lot and their story is not an easy one, especially in light of the danger the pack faces. We get a lot of twists and turns along the way, especially a big one towards the end that I definitely didn't see coming, and I'm curious to see how things play out in the next book. I also enjoyed getting to see this world outside the packs as Dara and Cruz were traveling to locate Dara's friends to join in their fight.

Usually these books are interconnected standalones, but I think this one would be a little hard to jump into without having read at least the one that came before it, Mated in Chaos. There was a final scene in there that has critical information that is helpful when starting Harbored in Silence.

Dara is a harvester death witch. She holds the power of both life and death within her hands. She has taken on the task of keeping the ward strong for the pack. Cruz is the heir of the pack. Should something happen, Cruz will step in and become Alpha of the Aspen pack. Dara and Cruz have a complicated but yet an intertwined connection. Dara saved him in a way that is technically forbidden by the Moon Goddess. Yet the Goddess put them together as each other’s potential mate.

Harbored in Silence has the Aspen pact still fighting the vampires. Dara knows her time is Wendling. Along with the help of Wynter and Wren, Dara seeks out, elastic effort to go and talk with a Coven. Only to find the coven has been destroyed. Dara knows the only way to fight vampires is with the help of the coven. The shippers and the riches have to work together to put an end to the evil that they are facing. Dora embarks on a journey to form a new coven with those who were outcasted by the previous leaders. Cruz is tasked to keep Dara safe as she gathers her friends of witches in hopes of them joining her to help take down the evil they are facing. Through this journey, Dara and Cruz both learn many things that make a big impact on who they are. With all the danger and chaos going on around them, they found a way to break down their own barriers and find that they are each other’s mate.

Harbored in Silence I believe is the beginning of a pivotal point within the storyline. We are introduced to an array of new characters, we have discovered who the enemy is and more secrets are still to be revealed.
