An interesting account of why humans are “born to run”, with a look at the tara humara, an Indigenous Mexican tribe known as the “running people “ coming together with ultra-marathon superstars in an epic road race. I enjoyed the stories of the various races, but there would be significant detours in the story to more technical/scientific things that lost me. Some of the treatment of the tara humara felt a little “ick” to me, but overall the writing was handled with respect. Certainly some things I want to think about like running with thin-soled shoes. While the audio narrator left much to be desired, I enjoyed listening to this on my runs.
