I only gave it 4 stars because this has been the only murder mystery book I’ve read so far and I was not disappointed by Harvey’s easy writing and plot twists. I could easily give this 5, but I have nothing to compare it to and I want to see if there is another one of Harvey’s that can get me sitting on the edge of the chair. That being sad, this was so easy to read and really exciting as well. I partially had a suspicion how it would end, but then Harvey wrote in another plot twist I didn’t quite see coming. Well done! I can’t wait to read more about this author.

I don't think "The Innocence Game" brings anything particularly new or riveting to the genre, but it's a fast-paced thriller story that I enjoyed overall. I love a shorter book and this one delivered without feeling TOO quick.

As the elder generation of great American crime novelists gives up the ghost, or retires from the scene (any chance you have another Matt Scudder novel in you, Lawrence Block?), Michael Harvey gives aficionados of the form some hope. This is a first-rate, stone whodunit, destined, I would hope, to become a classic of the genre. Very highly recommended.

Intriguing mystery that me constantly guessing. It's always captivating when the reader isn't sure who they can trust, or what is true. A great fast-paced mystery!

This book was great. I picked it up bc I live in Chicago, had heard about the Innocence Project in college, and needed a new type of unpredictable mystery novel after the last 2 left me bored. I read this in 2 days and loved it. The author was spot on with his portrayal of corrupt Chicago police and kept me guessing. Recommended to all.
