Summers are made for romance and each Summer I come for some Nora Roberts to fill my void. This one is a solid romance, but it lacked the deepness of other longer Nora Roberts romances. Anyway, it's as always a fast paced read and easy to follow.

mysterious sad tense medium-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? No
  • Loveable characters? No
  • Diverse cast of characters? No
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

The “hero” in the second book was a controlling stalker who thought he was above the law. The “heroine” fell in love with one version of him, but at the time she did, all she knew was he had great eyes and she disagreed with the morality of what he did.

Definitely not a romance for me.

Pretty unbelievable plot and unsatisfying ending. Not the best NR I've read.

This sequel to _Night Shift_ was just as fun as the first though this novel has an added paranormal element. Deborah is working on a tough case with the DA office and she's running into some questionable characters that aren't too happy with what she's uncovering. She finds herself in a difficult situation and is saved by Nemesis, the masked vigilante that goes against everything that she believes in. Regardless of their varying beliefs, they find themselves drawn to each other. To make matters more complicated, Deborah is also suddenly pursued by the billionaire, Gage, and she finds herself falling for him too. Can she really be in love with two men?

Basically, this is a definite romance novel and there are some serious moments of ridiculousness. However, it made me really happy because of all of the ridiculousness. I had read the prequel a few weeks back and I was very excited to find out that it was a part of a series. I think I shall definitely be checking out more romance novels for some light reading.

Again, since this is one of the author’s earlier works, it doesn’t contain enough character development to really satisfy me. However, I can see how Gage and Deb's relationship and world views provide the basic profile of Roarke and Eve from the author's In Death series.

Pretty Darn Good

I think this was the oldest Nora Roberts book I have read. It was refreshing and nostalgic and a blast from the past. I liked Cilla and Boyd and their story. I think I’m going to enjoy the Night Tales series.

Short and sweet. A good read if you don't want to start a full relationship with a series or need a break from them!

Read that it would be similar to the in death series....but no. Normal romance where the girl gets saved and kept safe by the guy. Yawn.
