After 2 years and 57 books, it was about time to take the courage and re-read this book.
Even though I have been through this every time I read the books and watched the movies, tears have wet the pages at the end.
It is one of my favorite of the series because of the special relationship between master and apprentice, loyalty, friendship and deepest affection. Dumbledore is a great character and by entrusting Harry with the most important mission, he proves his modern and wise approach towards the “generation gap”. He fights side by side with Harry and teaches him valuable lessons, the young wizard will be returning to at the darkest of times.

Five stars. Read it for the hundredth time. Favorite series ever, etc. Still don't know to write a review on these books. (I remember going to the midnight release. It was the night of my best friend's tenth birthday "hotel pool party." We actually left her party to pick up our copy at the bookstore, came back, and read the book the rest of the night while ignoring everyone else).

That was unexpected.
After such a lackluster last two outings with Potter & Co. I never thought that I would have as much fun with this book as I did. Of course, there were still a few slight issues I had, but all it all this book was actually pretty awesome.
Admittedly, I've always said that the sixth movie was my second favorite - but now I can totally agree with the people that said the book was so much better than the movie. This book has probably knocked Prisoner of Azkaban down as my favorite HP book so far. This book only missed getting five stars from me by a hair and it was totally worth slogging through the last two for this one.
