The second book in the series was interesting, the relationship was already growing when you jump into the book and the problems with the trial a little apparent from the outset. However, it is nice to see the growth of characters throughout and the changes to their relationships built on hidden pasts that come to light. An enjoyable little book with a nice call back to the first book.

What I liked/Didn’t Like: Loved the alien human romance. Even though she was bonded to an alien against her will true love can prevail.

Mila is battling a terminal cancer. When she is given the chance to take part in medical trials and gain some credits she leaps at the chance. Her training at YETI is going well even though she cannot keep up with all of her class. Some of the instructors are giving her a hard time but Jaron is always there to take away the pain...sometimes literally!

Jaron maybe a warrior but he is also a healer. He has been a tad sneaky with Mila and he forges more than a doctor-patient bond with her but also sneakily allows her time to both mentally and physically draw closer to him of her own free will.

I really felt for Milas mother, her story was tragic and well delivered. Mila really was the adult in the relationship but I'm glad that her mu may also get a HEA! Jaron was a sneaky, sneaky alien and I loved him for it. Mila was way too stubborn and entrenched in her mindset to see him as anything as her healer.

I received an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.
