A fascinating journey, with many pauses to take in the scenery. But the trip, even leaving intact the scenic pauses, could have been more direct.

Made it halfway through chapter 1. Good book, just not in the mood for such a thinky book at this time.

(Audiobook). It's a long book exploring examples of how genetics and the environment to create complicated human beings. As well as the spread of Neuroscience everywhere from psychology to law enforcement. What intrigued me the most and persuaded me to one day acquire this book (to reference in the future) to better understand the concepts raised in the book is the last chapter named war and peace. (Did not read appendix)

a fascinating read that centers on neuroscience but ties together so many disciplines and areas of human life. sapolsky is great at writing about dense topics in a way that’s fun to read. that being said, the middle part about all the brain experiments was a bit of a slog. but the rest is brilliant and engaging.
also would recommend as a parenting book - better to know these things before you mold a young malleable brain.
