¡5 estrellas!

"She had always wanted him at her side. Had always known that together, they could accomplish what neither could alone."

Bright We Burn ME VOLVIÓ LOCA. Acción, romance, amistades, familias, afdeyfgrtihjy simplemente no puedo.

"The more Radu knew the women around him, the more he wondered if any of them were not secretly terrifying."

"Thank you for embracing this fictional family of mine, for proving that no idea is too weird, no girl is too brutal, and no boy is too tender for readers of YA. You are going to change the world, and I can't wait to see how you do it."

The ending was a little anti-climatic for me but overall an amazing conclusion to the trilogy.

Ugh, I love Lada and Radu. I love the ending of this book and this series. It was sweeping and epic and it felt so loving and tender, while still having teeth.

Just a perfect ending.

On my knees for this trilogy 🙏🏼 not one, but TWO sets of platonic soulmates and the way
Spoiler Radu and Nazira just like adopt Lada and Mehmed's daughter (the way Radu could only ever see Lada and Mehmed whenever he looked at her 😭) and raise her with their respective spouses on their estate had me shook. Radu be like "this is my wife Nazira who is actually my platonic soulmate and this is my husband Cyprian who is married to Nazira's lover Fatima" it's like the relationship dynamic in The Raven Boys and it SLAPS

Started out brutal af
Spoiler Nicolae's death?!?! Fell to my knees in a Walmart. Just before she was about to say something, because she realized "Nicolae no longer hoped," the man who said "I am afraid to die, and I am afraid to watch you die, powerless to stop it" and still took a crossbow bolt for her. One of the few, if not only who could've talked her down. Truly, platonic soulmates, them>>>.

The way
Spoiler Mehmed
had crumbs of screen time i know that's right this ain't about you anymore problematic self important fool 💅🏼 It was really about Lada and Radu the whole time he was just set dressing
This book BELONGED to Radu (my beloved). His growth >>>
Spoiler he DESERVED that happy ending (or as happy as could be considering the circumstances

The way Lada girlbossed right outta this universe,
Spoiler had everything taken from her, her entire support system, the way only Radu could get to her, even if he had to take the last thing she had left, even if he knew she would never truly stop. "She had always wanted him at her side. Had always known that together, they could accomplish what neither could alone." Oh and toward the end? After Theodora was born and it was just Lada and Radu and she was crying? And she says get out and he "curled around her, holding her until she slept?" screaming crying throwing up. the way their relationship is so tangled and complex, how Radu still left, ugh I was FED.

the interpersonal relationships carry this trilogy and i cannot shut up about it

I have no words to describe how marvelous and incredible this book was.

What an ending!

Lada is for sure one of my favorite characters of all time, such a bloody wicked fantastic woman. And I know this book will be one of the bests ones of this year, hell, maybe one of the best ones of all time.

What an amazing book. A perfect balance between historical facts and artistic license.
