A fascinating insight into a shining light in the screenwriting industry. The fact that I know more about the fate of some of the films that he references makes it so much easier to see the person behind the name of William Goldman. Also great to see the evolution of the screenplay format, it is such a free flowing art form. Goldman just happened to be a master of it. More books by people who are good at the thing they are writing about.

“I believe as a writer that all the basic human truths are known. And what we try to do as best we can is come at those truths at our own unique angle, to reilluminate those truths in a hopefully different way”
