I don't know how I originally found out about this series, but I ended up buying it second hand when I did a large purchase from one of my favourite sellers on eBay. This manga was quite underwhelming, and it kinda felt wrong to read. It seems like a Lolita type book because of how the female love interest is presented. I think she's 18, but she's characterised like a 6 year old in how she acts and behaves and it didn't feel right with two of the guys crushing on her. I would have preferred it if the main female character wasn't dressed and acted like a younger girl that she was. In terms of the plot, I felt like not a lot happened. I wasn't invested in this book so I won't be continuing with the series and I'll end up unhauling it.

Very sweet, though a little heavy on the drinking to go in the teen area.

The anime was good so I decided to check out the manga. So far, it awesome.

Remember seeing snapshots of this when I was subscribed to ShoujoBeat, and had to pick it up for pure nostalgia. The story is super cute so far: a set of male roommates attending an art college have their lives changed when a freshman girl with incredible talent (complete a quirky attitude and look) starts her first year.

Honey and Clover is one of my favourite manga series. But the first volume is not that great. There are hints of the series to come but it really doesn't seem to know what it wants to be at this point. Plus, for me the series works best with Ayumi at the heart and she doesn't do a whole lot in the beginning. I am very glad that Shojo Beat magazine serialized this series, since I doubt I would have read further than this volume otherwise.
