I really enjoyed this volume more so than the first, the pair-up of Black Widow and Bucky/Winter Soldier is really growing on me; individually they're two of my favourite characters in the Marvel universe, they seem to compliment each other well when they work together such as in this series. To talk about cliffhangers though, my god, that ending was amazing.

This is turning out to be one of my favourite Brubaker runs. I really can't believe it took me this long to read it.

Oh man, this one was really good. I wish I had the next volume, and it's quite tempting to go out and find it, it was that good.
Maybe because the Hawkeye I read a couple of days ago was truly terrible (Avengers Solo: Hawkeye), this was even better than normal. The plot was great, the art very nice as usual, and always kept up a nice pace. Definitely one to read =)

I really do love Brubaker’s work, and I obviously gave this volume 4 stars because there is a lot I do really like about this. But what if, for once, the only prominent woman in the story didn’t get kidnapped / brainwashed? Just a suggestion. I do know it is different here with Natasha and her history, but must we damsel women to be saved by the man the book is named after?
Honestly, this series should probably have been titled The Winter Soldier and The Black Widow because I have been really enjoying how important she is in this story. Minus the kidnapping and brainwashing which clearly continues into the next volume. I was genuinely surprised by the twist / “this was the plan all along” moment at the end. So I am looking forward to how this resolves.
