Second in a well done mystery series, this one is even better than the first. Distinctly drawn characters, genuine suspense, and an amusing big dog named Baby. Enjoyable read and looking forward to seeing more in this series.

This was a quick but cozy read. It sure helped me procrastinate while I am supposed to be studying Elementary Statistics... I gave this a 3 star rating and do think I will continue on with the next book.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this second book in the Baker Street murder mystery series by Valerie Burns. I am already looking forward to the third book in the series which comes out this summer! This was a super fun, easy/cozy murder mystery and it definitely helped to carry some ideas from book one that I thought had been left unanswered. There are still more questions and theories I have circling these characters which make it easy to want to continue on with the series.

To keep a younger reader engaged the way Maddy uses her social media accounts as an influencer with hashtags is really fun and a unique style to the writing of this book that I haven't read yet by another author. Solid 4 star read for me and the definition of "cozy mystery".

Read this if you like dogs as side-kick characters; if you like baked goods (I personally LOVE all the sweet treats!); if you like the found family trope and if you enjoyed the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich you will most certainly enjoy these too!

Maddy, Baby, & the rest of the Baker Street Irregulars are back at it again in this second book in the Baker Street Mystery series. This time, two murders leave everyone reeling after one of them is an unexpected visitor, Maddy’s best friends… (not so ex) husband.

Maddy rambles her way through nerves, & manages to annoy all the men that want her to just stay out of the way — which I found delightful. Her personality is continuing to shine as the series goes on, & I love watching how her character develops. She’s no longer the stuck up, spoiled socialite that came to town in the first book!

I definitely recommend this book to friends who love cozy mysteries with a furry friend!

Fun times! There are cute moments among the recurring characters, and of course, Baby, the English mastiff. There's a heaping helping of melodrama, but it usually ends in a compassionate fashion. Many people are a little stupid when it comes to things said or done in front of witnesses/the police, but it's fairly plausible and helps the plot along. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I think it's patently obvious what the next reveal is going to be in the bare thread of an overarching mystery carrying from book to book, but the mystery is only part of why I enjoy this series, so I don't mind a bit of unintended transparency.

Entertaining story. There’s a lot of drama that is maybe over the top for a small time and for a sheriff. The mayor is also…unrealistic. But it doesn’t have to be real to be in a cozy so that’s fine, you just have to set it aside.
I felt like all the overarching themes were not put to bed so there’s likely to be more. Also a lot of the series themes were spelled out and solved.
The gen z, hashtags in sentences takes a minute to get back into and not find annoying.
