This is a much more complicated book than you would think, mainly due to the nature of the relationships depicted. The repeated theme of unrequited love made me incredibly sad.

Very Nice! I quite like the sifting narrators dancing around Cass and telling her story from the outside. The illustrations are fantastic in a squiggly, expressive way that feels interesting while managing to keep a wide cast of characters differentiated. Story-wise things bounce about and get quite sad in places but it always focuses magnetically back to Cass (as most things seemed to). Bagieu tells her story quite well textually and visually.

I devoured this book. It's a graphic novel, with different people in Cass's life offering their perspectives. It's beautifully drawn and written, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves music, the Mamas and the Papas, or a "before they were famous" story.

The book was okay. I think I would have liked it better if more of it was from the perspective of Cass.
