This book made me laugh and cry, it tugged at my heart strings and encouraged me so much in my faith!
More than anything, this book is real.
I cannot imagine going through what Mary Beth and her family went through and continue to go through. I continue to pray for the Chapman family when I remember them. Praying that He will make his presence known to them and continue to support them through every difficult day in this broken world. Thanking Jesus for the great encouragement that their family has been to Christians around the world for Mary Beth’s books and ongoing blog, and for Steven’s books and powerful music.
This book was well written, although the writing is not the book’s best feature. Towards the end of the book there are many chapters that consist of her blog posts during that time in her life. These are beautiful and encouraging but have a different writing style to the actual book that didn’t grip me as much. However, I think it was a good choice to include them as they tell of her story from when it happened, all her feelings and thoughts from that time - rather than a recollection. There are pictures included in the middle of the book that help with visualisation of the people and capture certain moments throughout the book. There are also quotes and excerpts from songs at the beginning of each chapter that are each beautiful and encouraging and match so perfectly with their respective chapters.
Such a beautiful testimony of faith, will probably reread at some point in my life.
