This book is gorgeous and heartbreaking. Morrison's prose is very lyrical, almost poetic. She's a great narrator too.

Toni Morrison is a literary powerhouse. Reading this again has reminded me why she has inspired me and my writing all these years. Her language is poetic and impactful. This is a hard read, but a worthy one.

Toni Morrison has a beautiful writing style and does a great job of tackling racialized beauty standards. The switching POVS worked in some parts but others felt disconnected; I wish Pecola's perspective got more focus. Overall, a great but heavy read, please mind the trigger warnings.

Truly shocking that this is Morrison’s novel debut. An incredible work with prose that is unmatched in deliciousness, evocativeness, and incisiveness.
