I may be reading these books too close together, but they feel VERY similar from one installment to the next. That being said, I read these books with a smile on my face and even occasionally laugh out loud on a few turns of phrase. This British humor is VERY well-written, however I found myself paying attention to the wrong things-like how many pages were left in the chapter, and how many chapters were left in the book. This book deserved better from me, but I was bored. The climax, as usual, is the best part, but the build felt especially slow.

I recommend to those looking for a diverting humorous read, but if you just read a Jeeves book, I would put some space between you and this book.

For such an old book, the comedy is incredibly relevant and effective today, almost 80 years after the fact. Everything feels like an old lens on our modern day, but captures the insanity of day to day living especially when one has to pretend to be nice and happy to everyone who would happily cause great misfortune to fall on them.

Took me a while to read. Part of that was savouring, another part was the fact I was given this book as a gift, and did not know what to expect until finally going through the first few pages.

Highly recommend. Some jokes don't quite land. But worth it.

The Mating Season is not nearly as funny as most of P.G. Wodehouse’s books.

I’m reading all of the Jeeves and Wooster books in order, and I really like Gussie Fink-Nottle and Madeline Bassett, so I appreciated this installment of their romance. I also enjoyed the absurd web of intersecting storylines throughout the book. The book was entertaining, but It didn’t make me laugh out loud the way most of Wodehouse’s other books do.

If you’re planning on reading through the entire series, this book will certainly keep you entertained. If you’re looking for a good starting point, this is absolutely not it. Read The Code of the Woosters or Joy in the Morning instead.

Fantastic Jeeves book with seemingly infinite twists and turns that always keep you laughing. One of my favorite series.

Jeeves is missing for the entire middle chunk :(

Also broke the false engagement streak :( :( :(
