This is book #4 of the Coded for Love series. We met Emma in an earlier book when she was saved from being held captive by the geneticist. Emma answered an ad for egg donation, but she had no idea that she would be held captive in an evil plan. Xander's father did not allow him to do much growing up. He had to follow what his father wanted or he would have to be taught an consequence.

Emma was saved by Xander and they both felt the pull to one other, but Xander did not want to have children because of his father. Xander was kidnapped and he realized that Emma is worth everything to him, but he had to get home to her.

I loved how Emma stood up to Xander's father. She had this fire inside her and she wanted to protect and love Xander with everything she had.

I can not wait to read more in this series!!

This was Xander and Emma's book and it was about 95% of what I hoped for. The 5% is because I wasn't sure whether Shep actually had been prejudiced against Xander they way it seemed in [b:Heated Match|15709236|Heated Match (Coded for Love #1)|Lynne Silver|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1339913668s/15709236.jpg|21374755]. Xander referred to it, saying he hadn't applied for a match because he thought Shep disapproved of him, but it didn't go anywhere.

I really liked that Xander got the lovin' I think he deserved, Emma understood as soon as Xander explained it and never forgot it even when he react out of fear. Xander's not telling Emma about his issues actually worked well he was in denial and when he almost gave in after his rescue he tells her while he tries to push her away.

I'm interested to see where the Dr. Wise
Spoilertelling Xander's father about Emma's birth control and it's location goes.

The ending with Xander's asshole, I mean male biological parent and Emma was super awful and well kinda-rapey. Not in an actual sexual sense but he uses his superior strength to hold her down while he tries to remove her birth control forcibly. It is exactly as squicky as it should be. The problem I had was that the book ended very abruptly after Xander's mom stops it and Xander arrives leaving you sort of going WTH just happened?

I wasn't a big fan of False Match, but Desire Unmatched has me excited for book 5.
