SPOILER Rin is growing

When I began this series I didn’t realize that it would be war after war through two volumes. Ordinarily I can’t stand all the violence. But I just couldn’t put it down. Rin’s thoughts as she puzzles out her next move are fascinating.

I hope to eventually write a more coherent review but for right now, I am almost speechless. This book devastated me. I felt like I’ve been led by the nose down this path that I eagerly followed only to step right into a trap. I feel personally attacked. I’ve been crying for the last hour of this book.
I don’t know what else to say.
Kuang got me. She got me good. Now that I’m done I see exactly what she was doing and she played my heart like a fiddle.

I’m distraught right now. I need some time to put my thoughts in order, but right now I’m very upset with R.F. Kuang. She has a lot of explaining to do.
