This is a great mystery novel that ties the past to the present. I didn't guess the ending (and didn't really try to, I just like to be surprised) but it was realistic and surprising, a combination that is sometimes hard to achieve. When I started this book I didn't know there was a second one in the series, but I immediately picked up the next one and started reading.

A nore convoluted writing style you could not find, and this makes me sad given how much I have enjoyed previous novels by Horowitz, including the whole Alex Rider series. The book within a book writing style made the read rather complicated and it feels as though it was written specifically for the screen.
