The art is terrible--I basically stopped looking at it--but obviously, this is the great dramatic moment of the series, and Gaiman definitely doesn't disappoint.

I like to think the fact that I stayed up until 3:15am finishing this attests for how amazing it is. The Kindly Ones wraps Sandman up in ways I didn't even think about until they were put before me. This volume pulled on my heart and made me think back to the first time I read Sandman, and made me love it for many of the same reasons all over again. My only qualm with this volume was I did not appreciate the art style. I found it did not meet the standards set by earlier volumes, though I realize that is a matter of personal taste. After a while I didn't even care anymore, Gaiman's writing is just that fantastic. I look forward to reading the Wake and seeing what else is left to be brought to the table after everything has been wrapped up so beautifully.
